Mural Installation

White Bear Center for the Arts is teaming up with public artist Jessica Turtle to create a new community-driven mural installation on WBCA's east-facing wall.

The mural will be inspired by photographs submitted by community members that reflect WBCA’s mission:

ENRICH LIVES by Celebrating Art

NOURISH IMAGINATION by Inspiring Creativity

BUILD UNDERSTANDING by Connecting People

For the month of July, community members were invited to submit photographs of things they saw that celebrate art, inspire creativity, or connect people.

Inspired by the photographs, Jessica will create a mural design to share the community's vision. In September 2024, the White Bear Lake community will see the mural come to life and will also be invited to take part in the process. See how your contributions shape this new installation and hear Jessica talk about the process.

As befits an ever-changing and evolving arts center, this mural is not intended to be a permanent addition to the building. After a period of time, we anticipate asking a different public artist to paint a new mural, and the exterior of our building will celebrate a new form of artistic expression.
