Intro to Punch Needle Rug Hooking

Instructor: Kim Scanlan
Get ready for spring by creating a crocus trivet! Learn the basics of punch needle rug hooking with fine needles while working on a small project. These fine needles are perfect if you have any type of hand issues as the needles punch smoothly through the foundation cloth.
While traditional rug hooking involves pulling a piece of wool or yarn up through a foundation cloth and creating your pattern on top, punch needle rug hooking punches yarn down through the foundation cloth to create the loops on the underside of the frame. It can be used to create anything from a small trivet to a large rug. Bring small pointed scissors from home.
