The Art of Rest for Caregivers and Special Needs Parents
Instructor: Jane Grant-Abban
Being a caregiver for a loved one who is sick or who has special needs can be exhausting, isolating, and heartbreaking. Giving day after day, week after week, often with little or no time for self-care can lead to burnout. Self-care is vital for the long haul, but how do you do it? Art uses creativity and imagination, which are two of the most effective life coping skills. It allows you to express your ideas and feelings at times when words may just get in the way. You can express your ideas and find new perspectives that ultimately empower you to keep hold of your own life’s narrative.
