The benefits of dancing are numerous. It improves balance and coordination, strengthens and stretches your body, stimulates your brain and cognition, and feeds your creativity. Join us as we learn basic dance moves, perform gentle stretches, and explore many styles of dance in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Although this class is primarily designed for anyone recovering from an illness or injury, or those managing a condition that affects balance and or range of motion (such as Parkinson’s or lymphedema), anyone who is interested in gaining the benefits that dance has to offer is welcome.
Supply List:
Comfortable clothing that you can easily move in. Ballet slippers or jazz shoes are preferred footwear as they allow free movement without sticking to the floor or being too slippery. However, a simple street shoe with a sole that does not grip the floor or is slippery will work. If wearing street shoes please bring a cloth to wipe down the soles before entering the dance studio.
