Come take advantage of our easy lift raku. Fire using low fire or raku glazes, naked crackle slip, horse hair, and feather decoration. Bring up to 4 pieces (no more than two 7-inch to 12-inch tall) ready for decorative firing. The pieces need to be bisqued and have glaze applied (if that is being used) by the firing day. Materials are available if you are signed up for a class or open studio time. This is intended for people with some clay experience. There will be only one instructor for the firing, so be prepared to load and unload your own work. Natural fabric, full-coverage clothing, and close-toed shoes are required.

Smoke firing, we will assemble a dry stack brick kiln that we will fill with tumble stack work surrounded by combustible material. This will be fired at the same time as the raku kiln but will need at least a day to cool before unloading. You may bring up to 4 additional pieces under 12” for this process.

There will be an information session approximately 4 weeks before the firing to answer any questions and to review available materials.
