Grades 2-5:

Morning Session (9:30 AM-12:00 PM):
Tuition: $176 Member/$220 Non-Member

  • Day 1: Painting on silk is exquisite and fun! Learn the technique of Serti silk painting in Paint a Silk Bandana with Erika Arndt and create a fancy scarf that would sell in Paris!
  • Day 2: We’ll spend time exploring the current exhibition in Did That Work of Art Just Say Something? with Amber Guetebier, where students can identify a piece in the exhibit that “speaks” to them. Then students will write a dialogue-driven story from that artwork’s point of view! Going beyond simply describing a piece, students will have fun making what the art has to say about them.
  • Day 3: Make a brilliant canvas masterpiece in Melted Crayon Art with Erika Arndt using hot glue, heat guns, and a whole lot of crayons. Dress for a mess.
  • Day 4: We will be “creating “ some magical papers to collage a large cat or dog face in Cats and Dogs Collage with Beth Lunsford, and learn to draw their eyes!

Afternoon Session (1:00-3:30 PM):
Tuition: $176 Member/$220 Non-Member

  • Days 1-4: Pinch, roll, coil, and twist!. We will use handbuilding techniques to construct a series of projects including relief tiles, cylinder shaped lanterns, and slab constructions in Clay Creations with Margie Jones. Then we’ll decorate our creations to make them our own!
