Week One: June 12-15

Register for Imagine Art by week. You can register for a week of all morning classes, all afternoon classes, or both for a full week! To register for a full week, you must register for both the morning and afternoon session of a week. Please double check that it is the correct week and age level for your child before registering.

Grades 2-5:

(MORNING SESSION FULL)
Morning Session (9:30 AM-12:00 PM):
Tuition: $176 Member/$220 Non-Member

  • Day 1: Come and be inspired by the artist Eric Carle in Monoprinting Cards with Beth Lundsford. You'll learn how to use acrylic paint on a gelli plate and then transform them onto cards and a collage.
  • Day 2: Explore patterns and colors in Watercolor Oil and Pastels with Beth Lunsford. You'll go home with a frameable work of art!
  • Day 3: Add a pop of color to your life in Polymer Clay Mini Pop Sculpture with Erika Arndt as you make some marvelous mini creations, such as a paint palette, a plate of fake food, a sculpture, and a clay-covered pen. Polymer clay is pre-colored and low-temperature, so participants get to take their creations home on the same day.
  • Day 4: We will be creating colorful happy paper for our skies in Tissue Paper Collage with Beth Lunsford and then use black paint to paint a tree or house or whatever you think of!

 

Afternoon Session (1:00-3:30 PM):
Tuition: $176 Member/$220 Non-Member

  • Days 1-4: Build a dragon eye using fun shapes and patterns in Dragon Slabs with Aiden O'Neil. Decorate with an array of fun colors including metallic to make realistic looking scales.

Grades 6-8:

Morning Session (9:30 AM-12:00 PM):
Tuition: $176 Member/$220 Non-Member

  • Day 1: Try your hand at transferring paint from one medium to another in Acrylic Transfer Painting with Kristin Camp, creating bold lines and unpredictable backgrounds. We will experiment developing the artwork further by adding paint, chalk, color pencils and paper. At the end of class, everyone should have a take home piece of art. 
  • Day 2: Painting on silk is exquisite and fun! Learn the technique of Serti silk painting in Paint a Silk Bandana with Erika Arndt and create a fancy scarf that would sell in Paris!
  • Day 3: We start class by creating multiple versions of stylized eyes, mouths and facial features, then mix it up in Fun with Faces with Kristin Camp. We will try all kinds of fun face variations. Students can pick their own variations and students will have the opportunity to pick variations for the entire class. 
  • Day 4: Add a pop of color to your life in Polymer Clay Mini Pop Sculpture with Erika Arndt as you make some marvelous mini creations, such as a paint palette, a plate of fake food, a sculpture, and a clay-covered pen.   • Days 1-4: Learn how to create cups. bowls, plates, and more spun on the wheel in Youth Wheel Throwing with Tori Poeschl. This will be a beginners youth class to lay down a foundation of wheel throwing, trimming, and surface design.
