Intergenerational Fridays

Join us this summer on Fridays from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, to experience enriching, art-related activities and educational opportunities for all ages. There will be hands-on projects, storytelling, movement, and many more gallery-themed activities. Kids under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Each week is something new - check it out!

June 16: Explore creative ways to work with images through printmaking and photo-transferring. Learn about Genie Hien Tran’s work in our current exhibition, Second Sources.

June 23: Explore WBCA’s outdoor campus as you make art with the sun! Try creating your own compositions with cyanotypes and learn about making art with nature.

June 30: Learn about Sandra Menefee Taylor’s artwork and process of working with nontraditional materials, like soil. See for yourself, the possibilities of creating art with natural materials!

July 14: Create with fabric! Make your own soft sculptures with fabric, inspired by Edson Rosas’ work in the gallery.

July 21: Connect with nature through journaling, movement, and creating. Get inspired by Sandra Menefee Taylor’s exhibition in the Ford Family Gallery to make your own artwork.

July 28: Get creative with words! Explore how poetry and visuals come together in the gallery exhibition Patio - de casa, and create your own art with written words.

August 4: Experience the different exhibitions at WBCA and explore how different artists connect with nature in their work. Create your own nature journal and use different materials to inspire your creations.

August 11: Witness the landscapes and nature scenes created by local artists in the Into Nature Plein Air Competition to inspire making big and small art reflecting the landscapes around us.

August 18: Experience the outdoors through the eyes of an artist. Learn about composition using a viewfinder and explore different ways to play with texture and color.
