Melanie Lieb

Melanie Lieb is a visual artist working in multiple media which include painting, drawing, printmaking, jewelry, sculpture, and installation. Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, IL; Melanie studied fine art at The School of the Art institute of Chicago until the excitement of the real art world took hold circa 1996. She has been making artistic copper enamel jewelry for almost a decade.

Enameling is a unique process of fusing different colors and textures of glass mediums (enamel) to copper with a torch or a kiln. Melanie’s jewelry is made in a variety of techniques from sifting and painting to fine cloisonné. Each piece is one of a kind and handmade and she refers to her work as “wearable fine art”. Melanie also spends time teaching enameling workshops and sharing her knowledge of the medium.

In 2020/21 Melanie relocated to Northern Minnesota from Spokane Washington and currently lives with her husband and two pups in Two Harbors where they enjoy the peace and quiet of the North Shore just steps away from Lake Superior.
