Shawn Wiski is an active member of the Minnesota Mosaic Guild and has enjoyed creating mosaics for over 20 years. Having been a former antique dealer, Shawn's love of vintage china, pottery, buttons and jewelry gave her a natural connection to the mixed media style of mosaic utilizing these elements to embellish such things as picture frames, tabletops, trays and more. Shawn is continually exploring different mosaic techniques and has taken a variety of classes including those utilizing Italian Smalti glass. She most recently studied under internationally known mosaic artist Mireille Swinnen in Venice, Italy to learn the art of micro mosaic. She is excited to share this unique process with students at the White Bear Center for the Arts!
