Morris Anderson

Morris was first introduced to carving by his grandfather as a 4-year-old in 1937. He continued his love for carving on and off until his retirement as Professor Emeritus from Wayne State College in Nebraska in 1994. Since then, he has been carving full-time and studied with Bob Travis, Keith Morrill, Phil Bishop, Gerald Sears, Pete LeClair, PJ Driscoll, Harold Enlow, Marty Dolphin, and Stu Martin, all but two of whom are Master Carvers are members of the Caricature Carvers of America (CCA).

Morris is a 30-year member of the Mid-America Woodcarvers Association and has over 50 years of experience in carving and teaching in the areas of low relief, intaglio, chip carving, canes and walking sticks, caricatures, and realistic. Having studied extensively with carvers from the CCA, his specialty is carving caricature, amusing, and realistic faces. He spent 35 years as an administrator and faculty member at the university level.

Morris has a BA from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, and a BME and EdD from the University of Nebraska.
