Louise Cardinal
Louise, a St. Paul native, has been involved in art since childhood. Louise grew up with an artistic mother who encouraged her to draw and paint. She also loved designing/sewing her own clothes and making jewelry. She earned a BS in Interior Design/Architectural Studies from the U of MN. After graduating, she worked in the architectural/construction industry in LA and studied at UCLA and USC focusing on painting/print making and silversmithing. Recently Louise owned a successful art gallery in Florida, representing her own as well as local artist’s work. Since returning to Minnesota, her love for art and exploring ways to use/create with a variety of materials is an important part of her daily life. She loves learning new techniques, sharing her ideas, and teaching them to others.
“My husband and I had a blast weaving. I have been begging my husband to do a class… To my delight, he truly enjoyed it for the relaxation and nice atmosphere. I really enjoyed talking to the instructor and classmates — so fun to see how different our projects looked! Lots of great supplies — plenty of time to do the project.” –Weave a Wall Hanging
“Louise hosted a wonderful morning of community and art! The project was fun and inspiring and the class conversation was delightful! I would certainly take another fiber-based class with her!” –Weave a Wall Hanging
