Shreya Oza
Shreya Oza (b. Ahmedabad, India) is a textile designer, artist and educator based in Saint Paul. Minnesota. Best known for her home spun and hand knitted paper textiles using ‘kala cotton’ and hand block printing with natural dyes - an inherently organic cotton strain indigenous to India which is further dyed with natural dyes, her work is at an intersection of material memory, cotton legacies and sustainability. Focusing on generating a physical archive of personal and collective south Asian narratives linked to women’s work, invisible labor, the work is large scale and exists as a measure to continue the legacy of craft practice and generating economy through it.
She founded ASA, India in 2016. Previous collaborations include Ogaan India, Flame Store and multiple associations with Amazon India Fashion Week and Lakme India Fashion Week through ASA.
Oza received a master’s in advocacy and political leadership from Metro State University in 2025. She exhibited at the Carnegie Art Center in Mankato in 2025 as a part of artworks selected at the annual exhibit of Textile Center. Oza has featured in several reputed fashion magazines and publications like Vogue Magazine India, Platform Magazine, Border & Fall, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle Magazine, Grazia Magazine etc. for her innovative approach to creating sustainable fashion.
