Small Bowl Carving

Instructor: Erik Vevang

Create your very own small bowl using traditional green wood carving techniques! Using gouges, hook knives, axes, and drawknives, you’ll hollow out and shape your bowl from a 6- to 8-inch block of green wood. Learn knife and axe safety, bowl design and layout, how to properly dry your bowl, and how to hold your bowl as you work. All tools and supplies provided, but it’s helpful to bring your own tape measure/ruler. Feel free to bring your own carving tools, wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting full of wood chips and closed-toe shoes.
