Clay Services
With our clay services, you have the option to purchase firing services, clay, and glazes from WBCA to use at home. These resources are perfect for hobby potters who don’t have access to kilns or supplies.
We are unable to accept production pottery.
HOW IT WORKS
Please place a Clay Services order before arriving.
Pick up will be approximately one to two weeks later at our front desk.
Any clay and glazes not purchased from WBCA MUST be pre-approved for firing by emailing Clay Program Manager Samantha Hernandez or Clay Studio Manager Alex Chinn.
PURCHASE FIRING SERVICES
WBCA fires Bisque at Cone 08 and Glaze at Cone 6.
You can drop off and pick up pieces during WBCA’s normal business hours at the front desk. All pieces must be labeled with a drop-off form and must fit within the dimensions below (L x W x H).
$10: 12”’ x 12” x 7”
$5: 6” x 6” x 7”
Note: Any pieces larger than 14” will be charged an additional $10.
PURCHASE CLAY/GLAZE
Pick up for any clay or glaze is on Fridays, 10:00 AM–3:30 PM, or contact Samantha Hernandez for an appointment during the week. Please specify the type of clay you are purchasing when ordering [MN Clay; MB6, Split Rock, Iron Range, and Reclaim (mixture of all 3)].
$10: ½ bag of clay
$20: full bag of clay
$5: for underglazes (2 oz. jars)
$10: 16 oz. jar of dipping glaze
CLAY AT HOME KITS
Clay at Home Kits are a great way for people of all ages and experience to enjoy the creative process of working with clay! You will receive a bag of clay and an assortment of underglazes, along with the opportunity to have your piece fired at WBCA. Let your imagination take you to a world of pinch pots and animal figures, or make a tile or plate! The ideas are endless!
Clay at Home Kits are $60 and must be purchased in advance through Clay Services. Kits can be picked up on Fridays from 10:00 AM–3:30 PM, or contact Samantha Hernandez for an appointment during the week.
$60 Clay at Home Kit includes:
- 1/2 bag of clay
- 4 underglazes (black, baby blue, yellow, and brilliant red).
- Bisque firing service (up to 5 pieces at one time).
- Glaze firing services (up to 5 pieces at one time).
- Clear glaze will be applied to pieces by staff.
- Includes firing for up to 5 pieces.
