Megan Miller
Megan Miller is a painter based in Stillwater, Minnesota, whose work is deeply rooted in the landscapes of the Midwest. She grew up in River Falls, Wisconsin, surrounded by open fields and rural scenery—an early influence that continues to shape her connection to place and nature.
Megan primarily works en plein air, painting directly from life with oils. Her work reflects a thoughtful approach to observation, composition, and atmosphere, developed through years of dedicated outdoor and studio practice. She has studied with Kim Casebeer and Kami Mendlik and has taken a class at MISA in 2016 with Marc Hanson. In 2025, she was awarded an
Exceptional Merit Award in the Open Class at the Grand Marais Plein Air Event.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art with a concentration in Interior Design from UW–Stout and discovered a lasting commitment to outdoor painting during a study-abroad experience in London. In addition to her fine art training, Megan brings a mindfulness-based approach to her teaching, influenced by her background in yoga and nervous system regulation.
Megan offers workshops and individual instruction focused on slowing down, seeing clearly, and developing a personal painting voice. Her teaching style is supportive, observant, and grounded in both technique and presence. She also creates commissioned work, collaborating closely with clients to produce meaningful, site-inspired paintings.
