Into Nature Jr.
Into Nature Jr. is a youth plein air exhibition celebrating the beauty of a Minnesota summer through the eyes of young artists ages 6-16.
What is Plein Air? Plein air is a fun way of making art outside! “Plein air” is a French term meaning “in the open air.” Artists who paint en plein air work outdoors, capturing the beauty of nature at that moment—whether it’s a park, the beach, or even your backyard.

Call for Entries
The Into Nature Jr. Plein Air Exhibition is open to kids ages 6 to 16 of all levels and abilities. Registration is free and can be completed in person or online between June 9 and July 31, 2024. Each artist may submit up to three works of art
Participation Dates
June 9-July 19, 2025
Kids are encouraged to paint or draw outside in their backyard, at a local park, or even on the campus of White Bear Center for the Arts. Other places to find inspiration around White Bear Lake are the gazebo at Matoska Park, Lions Park, Sucker Lake/Snail Lake, or Tamarack Nature Center. (Remember to get parental consent before you start!)

All are welcome to come celebrate the next generation of outdoor artists and see nature in a whole new way! Join us in the Community Studio for light refreshments.
Waiver
WBCA reserves the right to refuse any artwork for any reason. Reasonable care will be taken in handling and displaying artwork, but no responsibility is assumed by White Bear Center for the Arts (WBCA) for loss or damage of any kind. Submission of work indicates acceptance of these conditions and agreement that digital or photographic images may be used for publicity purposes by WBCA, including on social media and the WBCA website.
