Clay Services
With our clay services you have the option to purchase firing services, clay, and glazes from WBCA to use at home. These resources are perfect for hobby potters who don’t have access to kilns or supplies.
We are unable to accept production pottery.
Register for Clay Services or purchase a Clay at Home Kit through the Clay Services form.
HOW IT WORKS
You must fill out the Clay Services form before arriving. You will pay for all clay services at the front desk. Pick up will be approximately one to two weeks later.
Any clay and glazes not purchased from WBCA MUST be pre-approved by Clay Program Manager Samantha Hernandez (shernandez@whitebeararts.org) or Clay Studio Manager Alex Chinn (achinn@whitebeararts.org) prior to firing.
FIRING SERVICES
WBCA fires Bisque at Cone 08 and Glaze at Cone 6.
You must fill out the Clay Services form before coming in. You can drop off and pick up pieces during WBCA’s normal business hours. Pieces will need to be dropped off at the designated drop off station at the front desk. All pieces must be labeled with a drop off form and must fit within the below dimensions (L x W x H).
$10: 12”’ x 12” x 7”
$5: 6” x 6” x 7”
Note: Any pieces larger than 14” will be charged an additional $10.
Fill out the Large Piece Form before creating any items over 14".
CLAY/GLAZE PURCHASES
You must fill out the Clay Services form before coming in. Pick up for any clay or glaze is Fridays 10:00 AM–3:30 PM, or contact Samantha Hernandez for an appointment during the week. Please specify the type of clay you are purchasing when registering [MN Clay; MB6, Split Rock, Iron Range, and Recycling (mixture of
all 3)].
$10: ½ bag of clay
$20: full bag of clay
$5: for underglazes (2 oz. jars)
$10: 16 oz. jar of dipping glaze

CLAY AT HOME KITS
Clay At Home Kits are a great way for people of all ages and experience to enjoy the creative process of working with clay! You will receive a bag of clay and an assortment of underglazes, along with the opportunity to have your piece(s) fired at WBCA. Let your imagination take you to a world of pinch pots and animal figures, or make a tile or plate! The ideas are endless!
You must fill out the Clay Services form before arriving.
Clay At Home Kit includes:
- 1/2 bag of clay
- 4 underglazes (black, baby blue, yellow, and brilliant red).
- Bisque firing service (up to 5 pieces at one time).
- Glaze firing services (up to 5 pieces at one time).
- Clear glaze will be applied to pieces by staff.
Clay At Home Kits can be picked up on Fridays from 10:00 AM–3:30 PM, or contact Samantha Hernandez for an appointment during the week.
$60 per kit, includes firing for up to 5 pieces.
