Mary Jane LaVigne leads the monthly Writing Roundtable, which gives novelists, poets, essayists, and family storytellers a chance to meet, talk about process, and share their work. She also coordinates Am Now Writer, a showcase of these literary efforts. Some of the stories that have been shared stick with her as strongly as scenes from great literature. A winner of The Loft Mentor Series, LaVigne’s work has appeared in The Sun, Water~Stone Review, and Minnesota History. Her love of White Bear Lake’s history has led to such diverse undertakings as the Pedal Bear Art Shanty, which highlighted the Dakota origins of White Bear Lake, and the Scott and Zelda tour of White Bear Lake for the 2017 International F. Scott Fitzgerald Society Conference. LaVigne looks forward to representing the Art Center and White Bear Lake this year in Toulouse, France, where she will present a paper at the 2019 Fitzgerald Society Conference.
