S1A2 – Basket Weaving

This is an introductory class to the ancient art of basket weaving. The earliest evidence of basketry was found approximately 8,000 BCE in Kenya, but we are tackling this art with materials of today. You will learn to weave reeds of various colors to create your own basket. Bonnie will supply the reeds, the bases, bead accessories, and a tool kit that will be yours to keep. This will take place over two separate sessions to be sure you have time to finish the basket. It is advisable to wear clothes that are rough and tough.
