Time shifts memories into ambiguity and into new memories. Each time we remember the past, it has become a new past: slightly altered, blurred or more exaggerated and specific. Can we trust our memory and its story? Is remembering merely projection of our current self, desiring to connect to our past? Second Sources explores this idea through repetition. This exhibition consists of a series of collages, sculptures and textiles drawn from Genie Hien Tran’s studio objects, family photos and Vietnamese cultural archives.
