Raku is a 16th century Japanese method of hand building and firing. We’ll use special glazes that produce shiny metallic to matte black surfaces. Slip will also be an option for smoother, unglazed surfaces, along with horse hair or feathers for unique designs. Bring 2-4 bisque fired clay pieces to the firing (at least one shorter than 6 inches). An optional information session will discuss clay, form, and decoration choices.
