An artist statement is an undervalued opportunity to communicate context, vision, ideas, and plans with curious onlookers. Many artists think artist statements should sound a certain way, as the more impenetrable the language is, the better the art must be. Learn to write clearly and in a voice that represents you and guides readers to understand the work. Please bring something to write with and a lunch.
