Colors evoke a personal reaction for all of us. In this class, you will explore your personal reactions to colors and color combinations, learn about
traditional meanings of colors in various cultures, and apply this to your own works of art. Using the ancient structure of a mandala, a sacred circle symbolising the universe, you will create several pieces of art as you explore and apply color choices of personal meaning. For experienced artists, this is an opportunity to go outside of your traditional palette and explore subjective reactions to new color combinations. For everyone, it is a great opportunity to explore this age old tradition and enjoy the peace that connecting to these multicultural forms can bring. The instructor brings a background in western art, as well as use of color and mandalas in traditional Indian and Tibetan culture to share with the class.
