You are welcome to bring materials from home that you would like to use for your project such as homespun yarn or strips of fabric. This class is an especially unique and special opportunity to learn SAORI weaving from the 8 ladies who make up “Bloom.” While these ladies happen to have developmental disabilities they have already had two nearly sold out shows at Homewood Studios in Minneapolis, as well as having gained teaching experience through workshops held during their shows. SAORI is very different from traditional weaving, placing more importance on free expression and creativity than on technical skills or the regularity of the woven cloth.
