Painting with Raindrops: Collaborating with Nature to Create Mixed Media Art

Emma Freeman

Over three weeks, we will explore many beautiful ways to collaborate with nature to create art. Try painting with raindrops, printmaking with plants and feathers, weathering fabric and paper outside, slow stitching and using stones, birch bark, lichen and moss as collage elements. We will also draw simple natural shapes using a calligraphy pen and ink. We will focus on working in a sketchbook in this class and use it as a space to explore, experiment and play with ideas and techniques that you can take out into other parts of your art practice. There will be a blend of demonstrations, readings, prompts for reflection and time to create together.

This class will be a live meeting on Zoom. Click HERE for instructions on how to set up a Zoom account. After you complete registration, you will receive a link to your Zoom meeting in your confirmation email. Use this link to enter your class!
