Introduction to Tapestry Weaving

Laura Berlage

This ancient form of textile creation is rich with history and invitation for creative expression. Master weaver Laura Berlage will take you on a multiweek journey into the magical world of tapestry, where you will learn to warp and weft a 10in x 10in peaceful sunset landscape. This class will focus on establishing good tapestry technique, creating horizontal and angled forms, and exploring natural and organic shapes. Unlock the mystery of tapestries and learn new expressions in fiber. You will even use wool harvested from sheep on Laura’s farm! You will arrange to pick up a felting kit from White Bear Center for the Arts before class begins.
