Painting Draped Fabric in Still Life Watercolors

Catherine Hearding

A favorite way to add another level of interest to any still life painting is to include some fabric as an element of the composition. You will start with some favorite objects and add a contrasting or complementary fabric to the set-up, to create a still life composition. You will learn how to paint the soft folds of fabric to create contrast against the hard edges of your subject and learn how to add shadows and glazes for depth and dimension.
