Fine Silver Earrings

Kim Bakken-Parr
This is the perfect class if you are looking to get an early start on Christmas gifts, In this class we will make a variety of fine silver (99.9% pure silver) earrings. The design process begins by using polymer clay. Once the design have been finalized, work begins using Precious Metal clay (PMC). This material is composed of fine silver particles in an organic binder with water. After drying the piece in a dehydrator to remove the water, final filing and refinement is done. The next step is to fire the pieces in a kiln to burn up the organic binder. Once out ot the kiln the pieces are polished and a patina is applied, you will leave the class with your finished pieces. All tools and ear wires are provided. No previous experience necessary; it’s as easy as working with Play-Doh! Bring a lunch.
