Ballet Barre for All (Seniors Welcome)

This class is designed to allow anyone the chance to experience the benefits and joy of ballet. Most of class we will be at the barre performing basic exercises meant to increase strength, endurance, coordination, flexibility, and balance. For the last few minutes of class we will move to the centre and work on simple ballet combinations.  Whether you want to try ballet for the first time, return to class after many years off, learn proper technique to apply at your Pilates Barre class, or want to exercise and need something to hold onto for balance or arm support; this is the class for you! Jan has developed multiple classes to meet the needs for older adults and personally manages lymphedema through regular ballet classes.

Attire for dance classes: Any traditional dance or exercise wear that is comfortable and allows the instructor to see the proper placement of the dancer’s body. Appropriate dance shoes optional or bare feet.
